A couple weeks ago, I was watching makeup reviews on Youtube and people were talking alot about the new NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation.
First I saw it on Jackie Aina’s channel, then I saw JeffreeStar talking about it as well (I don’t really like Jeffree’s channel, but heh! Some people do!) and both said amazing things about this foundation, so it made me wanna try it.
I had been using since January the Maybelline SuperStay 24h foundation. All this started when the amazing NikkieTutorials told us that this Maybelline foundation was an incredible drugstore dupe for the HUDA Beauty Faux Filter Foundation, which I had an obsession for but never tried it because it was too expensive.
I always LOVED Nikkie and Jackie’s style, so I’m all in when it comes to full coverage foundation. My face doesn’t NEED full coverage, but I have 2 sunspots on my cheeks I like to hide, and some area are more pinkish-red than the rest of my face, so don’t bring me a water based foundation, I know I won’t like it.
Maybelline vs NYX
So Maybelline did a great job with the SuperStay 24h foundation, but I was between shades. Even if they have 24 shades, the #110 was too pale, and #112 was a little bit too dark compared to my neck. I could always buy 2 bottles and mix them up, but who has time for this in the morning?!
Here’s a great opportunity to give NYX a chance, because they offer 42 shades in the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation so I might find the right one for my face now!! I got the CSWSF03 (Porcelain) and it works perfectly with my skin tone.
First of all, this drugstore foundation comes in a pretty glass bottle WITH A PUMP. Don’t talk to me about a no-pump situation for foundations, I will not buy it.
Then, it is INDEED full coverage. You can build it up if you need, but I usually use one pump to do my whole face (using a sponge, beauty blender-style). It is a matte foundation, so I don’t know if you would like it as much as I do if you have very dry skin.
So far, after maybe 2-3 weeks using it, I love it. As much as the Maybelline one, but the NYX shade if definitely closer to my skin tone. It’s a drugstore brand, so it’s not expensive and the quality is very, very good. I didn’t notice if it changes color when it dries on my skin, so that’s good! I will buy it again for sure.
The only thing negative I have to say about it is that residue can clog the pump after a couple usage. Nothing you can’t handle, you just have to clean the pump from time to time to prevent pressure and explosion of foundation from it.
I know they suggest using it with the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop primer, but every review I saw about it said the primer is hard to work with, and the foundation stays a lot better using another primer so I didn’t buy it, and I use my NYX Angel Veil primer from time to time, or I use it directly on my skin (after my moisturizer) when I go to work.
And you? Have you tried the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation? If so, what did you think?
Or which foundation are you using at the moment? Anything else I could try?
You can find the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation in Jean-Coutu and Pharmaprix in Quebec, on on their website HERE.
