Summer style, with a pop of neon yellow!

In last week post, I told you about a coloful photoshoot I planned with my photographer. This week, after a difficult deliberation, I chose my final pictures. Here is one of them:

I really like how the colors are flashing from that photo shoot. The idea behind everything started with that orange pleated skirt we found at Target. I really liked the midi lenght, the bright color and the fact that I could wear it to go to work. I wanted to keep it simple, so I paired it with my Eloquii white crop top. I also wanted to showcase my neon yellow fanny pack, but as you may know, neon yellow is my color and one element was not enough: I needed neon yellow shoes as well to complete the look!

The thing is, I couldn’t find any neon yellow shoes in time for the photo shoot.. So I bought brand new Christian Siriano Verbana mules from Payless and I painted them. I was instantly attracted to these mules because of their look: the cone heel, the closed front of the shoes.. they are already stunning and I knew they would look amazing in neon yellow! The best scenario would have been to buy the white ones, and paint them yellow, BUT there was only the black ones available in my size. So I bought the black ones, painted them white (several coats), let them dry, and paint them yellow (several coats again) and voilà!

So I hope Mr. Siriano will forgive me for changing the color of his masterpiece..

What do you think? Do you like the result?
